As always, there’s a lot moving with the New Brett Project. I decided today I’ll need to increase the budget I had in mind for my camper van if I want something that’s a little closer to my vision. I’m looking for something midway between a traveling Taj Mahal and a shack on wheels.
A few hours after making that decision, the universe cemented an opportunity to work 20 hours/month doing freelance communications for the ManKind Project. I imagine drafting website copy from a picnic table near Boulder.
To meet my goal of getting my house on the market by the end of the month, my real estate agent scheduled a photographer to take pictures on Friday. I have three tasks to accomplish before then:
- Cleaning up my back yard garden, which currently features four giant, dead tomato plants left over from fall
- Vacuuming and cleaning my mud room, a name that is more literally accurate right now than it’s supposed to be
- Boxing up the clothes and pictures in the bedroom my son used when he stayed with me.
As some of you know, I’ll be in Red Wing, Minn., from Thursday to Sunday staffing a men’s retreat. So my window to accomplish these tasks is compressed. If I can’t get them done in time, I’ll push back the house shoot by a week. If any of you are available to help during the day this week, though, I’d love to have you. That’d increase the chances I can hit my goal.
P.S. Thank you to Ken Lessley and Lewis Dees for helping me cart boxes to my storage space on Saturday. Thank you to John Bitenc for letting me borrow his lawn mower.
